The world’s strongest fiber™

Dyneema® is a versatile, low-weight, high-strength fiber that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight. The fiber has been the benchmark in HMPE since its commercial release in the late 1970s.

Dyneema® fiber is 15x stronger than steel at the same weight, with a tensile strength up to 43 cN/dtex. As well as its extraordinary strength, Dyneema® excels in cut and abrasion resistance and has a high resistance to chemicals and UV. Dyneema® has a very high modulus (resistance against deformation), yet it is so light that it floats on water. Dyneema® is available in a wide range of titers from 50 to 6600 dtex, making the fiber suitable for many applications.

As the premium distribution and converting partner, FibrXL can assist you to get the most out of this extraordinary fiber.

Bio-based Dyneema®

DSM Protective Materials is the first producer ever launching a bio-based ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber (branded as Dyneema®) using a by-product from the wood pulp industry as a sustainable resource to produce renewable Ethylene feedstock. Based on the mass balance approach the bio-based fiber is manufactured in such a way that the final product is identical to the fossil-based yarn. This means zero compromises on quality, characteristics, and performance!

SK99 for ultimate strength

Dyneema® SK99 has a 20% strength advantage over SK78 and crucially retains the same elongation and creep characteristics as SK78 – out-gunning SK90 on all levels! SK99 has an unmatched strength to weight ratio and has carved a niche for itself as the ultimate performance core material.

DM20 for minimum creep performance

Developed for offshore use, ropes with DM20 outperform the alternatives, surpass industry standards for (deep water) permanent mooring solutions, and will outlast the operational life of the installation. DM20 has slightly lower tenacity than SK78, but has one major advantage in that it exhibits virtually zero creep. Also used for static load applications such as standing rigging.
